I spy a Healthy Pie!
With summer in full swing, we thought we’d give you a healthy dose (literally) of ways to live a fit life while still enjoying your favorite foods—like pizza! Think that sounds impossible? Well read on food lovers. We’re not going to give you a step-by-step diet plan—that’s what the infomercials are for—instead we’re going to give you the freshest ingredients to eat up (mentally and physically) so that you’re ready to lounge pool-side this summer.
What is the first thing that pops into your mind when someone says pizza? Is it grease? What about when someone says vegetables? Does the phrase “a salad won’t fill me up” flash in your head? Your Pie… (read in an epic announcers voice for best results) will change the way you think about pizza and vegetables FOREVER!!!

Put your dough where your mouth is.
Less is more. Our dough has only six ingredients (flour, semolina, yeast, water, salt and sugar), so there’s no need to worry about it containing unnatural or unhealthy additives. We use a family recipe that dates back hundreds of years to the Italian island of Ischia. No mystery ingredients here, Nonno wouldn’t hear of it!

Whole wheat flour keeps the bran, germ, and starch together in perfect flour harmony, whereas white flour only uses starch. Who cut the cheese?
Guilty. We cut 10 different types of cheese every day. Which should you choose, though? Point to that low-fat Mozzarella! There are fewer calories and less fat, but the fat that low-fat Mozzarella does contain is the good fat (omega 3 fatty acids, to be exact) that your body needs and uses. Another tip: ask for “just a little.” Your pie doesn’t have to drowning in cheese for it to be scrumdiddlyumptious.
