Hap-Pie Birthday! Your Pie is the perfect family friendly venue to host a birthday for kids of any age. It’s a known fact many kids are lovers of a simple cheese pizza, but we let them make it their own. From playing with a piece of dough to creating a pie of their choice one thing is for sure – kids love Your Pie!

At the party, kids each get their own pie to load up with the toppings of their choice. They can then watch their masterpiece come to life in the Your Pie brick oven while playing with some of the left over dough. You couldn’t imagine a more perfect (and definitely not a more delicious) birthday party for your kid’s special day!

At Your Pie, we may be known for our tantalizingly delicious brick oven pizzas, but we believe it is important to be more than simply your favorite pizza joint, we want to give back to the communities in which we live, work and play. That’s why we believe in Your Pie, Your Community. Each year, we donate more than $20,000 to non-profit organizations such as charities, schools and sports teams through percentage nights and food donations.

Your Pie percentage nights have become a favorite event in local communities providing organizations a fun and delicious way to raise money. Percentage nights allow non-proftis to raise funds through a certain percent of the restaurant’s sales for a specific night being donated to the organization. To participate, all you have to do is contact your local Your Pie, setup a night for your organization to host a percentage night and then promote the percentage night to your friends, family and organization members to come out to have a great meal and raise money for a great cause. For every person that comes in and mentions your organization on the specific night, we’ll donate 10% of their ticket price to your organization. Your Pie has hosted percentage nights with major organizations including Relay for Life, Walk MS and American Cancer Society and local organizations such as little league teams, local non-profits and student organizations—no organization is too large or too small.

Your Pies across the Southeast are getting in on giving back in a big way. Your Pie Tampa recently participated in the All Around Town fundraiser, a program benefitting Tampa Bay Little League, helping the organization raise $15,000. While, Your Pie Watkinsville recently hosted a percentage night to support the Athens Area Cancer Auxiliary, a volunteer organization that works to prevent cancer through education, service projects and fundraisers to support local cancer foundations.

To host a percentage night with Your Pie, please contact your neighborhood Your Pie. Supporting your favorite organization never tasted so good!

While Italians have made their mark throughout history with contributions such as Leonardo da Vinci, The Godfather and the cast of The Jersey Shore, no one can attest to the fact that it is the traditional flavors of Italian cuisine that reign supreme in our American eyes. From lasagna, to pizza, to pasta and beyond, these home cooked comfort foods have become staples in the homes of families all across the world.

However, the fine flavors of Italian cuisine do not end with the combination of marinara and an assortment of carbs. One of the most coveted Italian dishes of all is the Caprese Salad, or Insalata Caprese, as the Italian aficionados like to call it. Originating from the Isle of Capri, an island near Ischia–the birthplace of Your Pie, this bright and refreshing salad even pays homage to its country by showcasing the colors of the Italian flag right in the dish itself.

Being that Italian cuisine is derived from the creation of quality and simplistic recipes that can be enjoyed time and time again, the Caprese Salad proves to be a traditional classic at any Italian dinner table. With slices of hearty Roma tomatoes, nestled against creamy mozzarella and united with the peppery taste of basil, our Caprese Salad takes the most simplistic ingredients and combines them in a way that leaves you begging for more. Finished off with our house balsamic vinaigrette for a perfect merriment of traditional Italian flavors, this healthy menu option will have you dreaming of Venice and singing “amore”.

If you’re looking for a way to channel your inner Italian, without putting yourself into a carb coma, stop by your nearest Your Pie to try the Caprese Salad or any of the other delicious salads that our menu has to offer. Don’t see one you like? Well there’s no reason to fret. If you can make your own pie, you can make your own salad too! With various types of lettuce and an assortment of fresh ingredients at your fingertips, you can create the salad of your dreams in the blink of an eye.

The Hippie Pie proves that peace signs and pizza lines perfectly pair like Sonny and Cher (pre-1975 and the If I Could Turn Back Time music video). So turn on your lava lamps, kick back in your beanbag chairs and hear us out.

Like hippies, we here at Your Pie also enjoy getting baked… in brick ovens, that is. Each bite of the new Hippie Pie will transport you deeper and deeper into the roaring crowds of Woodstock (a much cleaner, more family-friendly Woodstock) and, like those crowd surfers of 1969, will help you experience pizza in an entirely new way than ever before.

As colorful and crusty as most folks of that era, the Hippie Pie is swirling with sundried tomato basil sauce and topped with a piechedelic mixture of mozzarella, spinach, tofu, artichokes, banana peppers, roasted garlic and baby bellas (which are just as mind-altering as those other kind of ‘shrooms) – a far out creation that’s not far out of your healthy diet. Of course it wouldn’t be a true Hippie Pie if it didn’t promote the flower child focus on wellbeing, health and harmony. A product of soybeans, tofu is tofull of antioxidants that help to reduce bone loss and – in the words of Bob Dylan (and decades of bad sequin-blazered high school reunion cover bands… and Rod Stewart*) – to keep you “forever young.”

The Hippie youth movement successfully altered the face of the music, culture and politics of 1960s America. While we may have limited say in the policies that pass through Congress (we’ve been pushing pizza as the National Food for years… darn turkey), we can make a difference in the way that people look at food. Think of us as the hippies of the pizza world. Hippies sought to free themselves from convention and to shift the status quo. At Your Pie, we seek to free ourselves, and our customers, from the box (literally) of pre-made, conveyor-belt pizza and take people back to a time when creativity and individuality were making, breaking and baking the rules. Furthermore, just as the hippie movement epitomized an independent American counterculture, we too are committed to creating an American counterculture of sorts – “counterculture” meaning the culture of order-at-the-counter eating, where freedom to express yourself (and your inner pizza) should be encouraged and enjoyed.

It’s time to trade in your bell-bottoms for bell peppers and tie-dye for pie-dye. Carry on the legacy of the bohemians and beatniks (though preferably not their afros and excessive facial hair) and dare to be different by trying (to try is to love, and all you need is love) the Healthy Collection Hippie Pie. You can’t spell hippie without pie, and you can’t spell pie without thinking Your Pie.

*Rod Stewart also wears sequin-blazers and may now possibly be in a high school reunion cover band.

Over the last month the University of Georgia community has been making a difference one brick oven pizza at a time with Your Pie’s Greek Madness. A play on the March Madness tournament, Greek Madness allows sororities and fraternities to compete against each other in a in a head-to-head competition to earn money for the philanthropy of their choice. The final round of the competition concludes at close of business Wednesday, April 25, 2012 as Sigma Delta Tau and Chi Omega compete in a one-on-one showdown to see who will win Greek Madness glory and $1250 to the philanthropy of their choice.

Each year, Your Pie donates over $20,000 to the community through percentage nights and food donations. In the past two years, Your Pie has donated nearly $5000 towards local and national philanthropies through the Greek Madness competition. Sororities and Fraternities earn points in the competition through dollars spent at Your Pie. For every $4 spent, one point is earned. The finalists win $1250, $500 and $250 respectively, that will be donated to their chosen philanthropy. The final two teams also receive a pizza party hosted by Your Pie.

Your Pie’s desire to give back to the community sparked the idea for this competition.
“One of our company’s core values is community, so giving back to the community is in our blood,” said Drew French, founder of the Your Pie Franchise. “This competition is a fun way for organizations to compete in order to give to philanthropies that are close to their heart.”

After a back-to-back victory for Zeta Tau Alpha, two new sororities have risen to the top in the 2012 competition. This year Sigma Delta Tau and Chi Omega will compete in the Greek Madness finals. These organizations rose through the ranks of the brackets by engaging community members through sending emails across sorority listservs, making chapter announcements and promoting the event through social media.

Sigma Delta Tau is competing to raise money for Women’s Imaging Center at St. Mary’s. Located off Ga. 316 on Daniels Bridge Road, the center combines high-tech diagnostic and treatment with convenience, comfort and privacy. The center strives to provide patients with compassionate care that enriches emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.
Chi Omega is competing for a donation for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Make-A-Wish Foundation is the nation’s largest wish-granting organization. The foundation gives hope and joy to children with life-threatening conditions by making their biggest dreams come true.

After three years, Greek Madness has grown beyond the University of Georgia campus and is making a difference across the southeast on college campuses such as Georgia Southern University and Florida State University.

In the Greek Madness competition, organizations get to choose their own cause by selecting the philanthropy of their choice, making the Your Pie Greek Madness tournament personalized, just like Your Pie pizzas. Your Pie is proud of all the organizations that have competed in Greek Madness over the past three years. Each of these organizations have made an impact in their community, one pie at a time.

As the old song goes, “you say tomato, we say MARINARA!” Ok, that may not be exactly how it goes, but whenever we hear the word tomato, we just can’t help but sing about sauce! No matter how you pronounce the melody-inspiring produce that will forever confound grocery store clerks as to whether it belongs in the fruit or vegetable bin [does anybody really know?], we think you’ll agree that the flair’a of our marinara is a toss above the rest. So spread the word about how we spread the sauce.

Indeed, the quality of our marinara is attributed to the quality of the tomatoes from which it is made. And can we tell you a secret? Lean in really close. Whoaaa there, not that close. Ok, that’s better. Here it is: More than anything else – more than how they’re prepared or who prepares them (though everybody knows Your Pie makes ‘em best) – the magic to perfect sauce-worthy tomatoes is in the dirt. Yep, it’s true. Tomatoes are best grown in wet areas and sandy soils, and after searching high and low for the most tomatotally terrific terrain, we finally found the deserving dirt we’d been looking for in Stanislause (or should we say, StaniSAUCE) County, California – which is to tomatoes what Napa Valley is to wine. And like wine (which, might I add, Your Pie has an extensive selection of), our marinara pairs perfectly with a wide variety of cheeses (which, might I also add, Your Pie also has an extensive selection of… people, WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED). Marinara, cheese, wine, and dirt – that ain’t weak sauce, folks!

Now, we will be the first to admit that we use canned tomatoes in the making of our sauce. However, we will also be the first to inform you that the canning of tomatoes is an integral part of a deep-rooted tradition and perhaps one of the primary reasons why the fruit/vegetable [give us an answer people!] has reigned hauss of the sauce throughout the ages. So before you get saucy with us, CAN it and listen up.

The name “marinara” comes from the Italian word “marinaro,” meaning seafaring or sailor. In 16th century Naples, men would set off on long voyages immediately following the summer tomato harvest, making is necessary that the tomatoes be canned and stored for after their return. Upon their winter homecoming, a huge feast would be held and the tomatoes that were months before preserved were brought back out, still as red and ripe they were that summer. This canning process was ideal for lengthy sea voyages hundreds of years before refrigeration (yes, contrary to popular belief, there was a world before the microwaveable dinner) and is still ideal for keeping produce fresh from the croplands of Cali to our cutting boards.

And so, we issue a small craft advisory – craft pizza, that is – because Your Pie is making waves as captains of the crust! Sail on into the Your Pie port and anchor yourself in front of your favorite craft pie. Remember, the secret is in the sauce. And when it comes to sauce, Your Pie is boss.
